Distribuzione di Tarentola mauritanica secondo IUCN

 

Area mediterranea, incluse le isole, dalla penisola iberica verso oriente fino alle isole ioniche, zone continentali adiacenti e Creta. Anche Canarie e Africa settentrionale. In Italia è presente in Istria e dalla Liguria alle regioni centro meridionali e nelle isole. Tarentola mauritanica vive dal livello del mare fino alla quota di 2.300 metri (in Spagna).
